Aronda’s Remains Brought Home

The remains of former Internal affairs minister  Gen Aronda Nyakairima have been brought home today at 2pm aboard Emirates Airways.



Upon landing at Entebbe Airport, Aronda’s casket was carried by UPDF’s top brass.

Aronda passed on last weekend while he returned from a trip to South Korea. His was reportedly found dead by a hostess on an Emirates Flight headed for Dubai.

UPDF Spokesperson Lt Col Paddy Ankunda revealed that autopsy will continue at Mulago hospital.

“Doctors already have an initial postmortem report. Autopsy continues at Mulago. We will leave no stone unturned,” tweed Ankunda.

Among the generals that carried the Late Alonda’s casket included; UPDF Ivan Koreta, David Muhoozi, Julius Oketta, Owesigire among others.



Cabinet approved the burial arrangement plans as follows:

Wednesday, 16th September 2015: Arrival of the body.

Thursday, 17th September 2015: Body lies in State in Parliament for Members to pay tribute to the late Hon Gen Aronda.

Friday, 18th September 2015: Funeral service at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Sunday 20th September 2015: Burial in Rukungiri.
