Betty Nambooze Suspended from DP

The Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze Bakileke who is also the Democratic Party’s Vice President for Buganda region has been given a three-month suspension.
The suspension comes on the heels of Nambooze organizing a conference with DP delegates in Buganda last month, a move DP top officials strongly criticized saying it was illegal and accused her of defying the party president, Nobert Mao.
This therefore prompted the National Executive Committee [NEC] of DP to convene a crisis meeting in which they decided to suspend Nambooze for three months as they investigation the motive behind her actions.
The motion to suspend Namboze, was moved by the DP youth vice chairman and seconded by a one Ritah Nakyanzi, also a member of the youth League.
Waiswa Mufumbira, the party vice spokesperson confirmed that among the 30 NEC members who attended the meeting, 22 voted to suspend Namboze, four moved out of meeting in protest against the motion, and one person disagreed with her suspension while three abstained.
Among the four who moved out include; the mayor of Makindye division Ali Nganda Mulyanyama, Paul Kakande, Sam Muyinzi.
A committee has been instituted to investigate her conduct and behaviors.
