The Iceland based, Thróttur Reykjavík F.C player sent the Cranes into the lead in the 22nd minute with a brilliant pass from Brian Umony.

Mawejje, who has had an eight month time without serving the national team bounced back in style with a goal to earn the Cranes their second win in two games.

Meanwhile credit is worthy to Cranes Goal keeper, Dennis Onyango  who at the same time saved Uganda from sharing the points with Comoros after  the hosts were awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute with right back, Dennis Iguma having handled the ball in the forbidden area.

The South African based shot stopper saved his side to remain in the game after punching Nadjib Abdou’s spot to force a corner.

Cranes head Coach Micho Sredojevic responded by replacing forward Brian Umony with aggressive Ivan Ntege into the midfield while Farouk Miya paved way for KCCA FC’s Joseph Ochaya in bid to keep their lead.

In the later minutes, Rio Ave’s William Luwagga Kizito was called off for Yunus Sentamu during the 85th minute to complete the three changes

For Comoros, made only two changes, Mchangama Mohamed replaced Kassima Ahamada before Kombo Ahamadi came in for Faidine Yacin Saandi .

Uganda now leads group D with six points from two games to keep 100% record

Uganda’s next group D fixture will come underway in March 2016 with a trip to Burkina Faso.
