Details On Fallen Agriculture Ministry Boss Emerge
The family of the Uganda government official, who was found dead in Amsterdam on Monday, says he has been suffering from “bouts of hiccups” according to reports on loval news agency, Uganda Radio Network.
Michael Odong, the assistant commissioner in charge of Crop Protection and Certification in the Ministry of Agriculture, died at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam while on his way for a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. It is unclear what led to his death but his family says he suffered from hiccups and waist pains that affected his feet.
He was found in possession of passport number B1140204 and visa documents indicating that he was proceeding to Geneva, Switzerland.
Alfred Okumu, the deceased’s eldest brother and director of studies at St. Joseph’s College Layibi in Gulu, says Odong was in and out of Mulago Hospital seeking treatment for hiccups. He however says since January, Odong had never been hospitalised with the disease
