DPP To Take On Katumwa Defilement Case

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has summoned the Officer in Charge Criminal Investigations at Katwe Police Station to submit the file for review where a city businessman David Katumwa is being charged for defiling a 16 year old girl.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango has confirmed the request for the file which the DPP stated in the letter sent to Katwe Police that he had received complaint on how the file was being handled thus summoned it so he can peruse through it and advice further.

Mr. Katumwa was released on police bond after police failed to get clear evidence placing him at the scene of crime.

The Resident State Attorney (RSA) representing DPP advised police to do a more extensive investigation and adduce evidence worthy prosecution.

David Katumwa, a resident of Luwafu village, Makindye Division, is alleged to have defiled 16 year old (names withheld) and given her Ushs20, 000.
