FDC Insists On An Independent Audit Of Presidential Results

FDC President Mugisha Muntu says the party has set up a committee to rally Ugandans to demand for an Independent Audit of the election results.

The FDC president made the announcement while delivering the party’s position on the recent Supreme Court election petition.

Amb. Wasswa Birigwa has said that Presidential candidate Kizza Besigye won the February 18 presidential elections.

“I am confident that Dr. Kizza Besigye won the Presidential elections and we have got independent experts to assess this process.

We still demand for the independent audit of the results to determine who surely won the elections.

The people of Uganda know they were cheated and the NRM knows this. Numbers were fabricated. We want people to know what happened.

There is a Supreme Court and the people’s court. The latter also matters.

We as FDC don’t see the reason why the National Resistance Movement – NRM fears an independent audit. The Supreme Court can inquire beyond a petition but they didn’t. ”
