Gen. Tumukunde, Rwamirama Lock horns Over Political Ambitions of their Sons

The rift between the Minister of Animal and Husbandry and Isingiro North MP Bright Rwamirama a father to Mwine Mpaka and Gen. Henry Tumukunde, Amanya Tumukunde’s dad has taken a new twist.

Amanya Tumukunde defied National Resistance Movement (NRM) orders and he is to contest as independent for western Uganda youth MP seat.

In an informal talk on Sunday evening last week at Lake View hotel in Mbarara, Hon. Rwamirama said Tumukunde should tell his son not to contest as independent the way he has been meeting aspirants who lost in NRM primaries telling them not to contest as independents.

“Youth leadership would be tabled like how Tumukunde was spending sleepless nights while meeting those who lost in NRM primaries not to contest again and the NRM members should not fight for positions,” he said.

He added that Tumukunde’s son should quit the race and allow Mpaka to spear head youth developments because his son has spent most of his time by sensitizing youth to work.

Rwamirama warned that NRM risks losing the seat to opposition.

“Yes Amanya’s father (Tumukunde) has a lot of money to finance his son but it would not be good to disrupt some body’s programs,” Rwamirama said.
