Government Vehicle Knocks kid, Driver Arrested

Police in Entebbe is holding the driver of a government vehicle, number UG O427Y which was involved in an accident along Entebbe road yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around Kitala, Entebbe road at about 1:45pm.

According to the eye witness who is a friend to a one Lilian Mbabazi, after the incident, the driver did not bother to stop and take care of the kid, but took off at a terrific speed.

“The driver of this car at about 1:45pm knocked a kid around Kitala, Entebbe Road and sped off… My friend was driving right behind them… Is this where humanity has reached? How do you knock a child and just drive off?  I don’t know what condition the kid is in, let’s pray for the best” Lilian Mbabazi posted on her Facebook page.

In response, the Uganda police force tweeted on its official twitter page that it had nabbed the driver of the car that was involved in the accident.

“Thank you for your vigilance, we have intercepted the driver. He’s currently recording his statement at Entebbe Police station.” Police tweeted.
