Hunt On For Police Officer Who Shot Wife Dead

Police is hunting for a police officer for allegedly killing his wife after the suspected her of cheating on him with several other men.

The suspect is identified as police constable William Okwir a police officer attached to Nyairongo police post Kaseta parish Kabwoya sub-county Hoima District.

The suspect is alleged to have shot dead his wife identified as Hasifa Tumuhairwe 25yrs a resident of Kabwoya sub-county.

The Deceased was shot in the head and in the left thigh after the two had domestic misunderstanding. This was after he suspected that the deceased was having love affairs with other men.

The incident occurred inside their rented house near the police post.

After the incident the the suspect went to the nearest bar of one Bogere and robbed it of unspecified amount of money. He also robbed a motor cycle Reg. No. UDO 079y from Kenneth Mujuni and 10 litters of petrol from Akugizibwe Juliet.

According to the Albertine region police spokesman Julius Hakiza, Okwir took off with the police rifle AK47 No. UG POL EW3750K with 60 rounds of ammunition.
