Uganda Police has driven back Amama Mbabazi to Travel Hotel, through a different route.
Amama Mbabazi convoy was stopped a few meters from Travel hotel and police warned him against addressing his supporters
Uganda Police Force has today blocked Amama Mbabazi’s consultative meeting in Jinja town.
Amama Mbabazi was to hold consultative meeting at Hotel Triangle but he was blocked by Uganda police.
Mbabazi camp says that Police blocked the meeting because that road to venue is under construction.
“Now this is classic! Police tell @AmamaMbabazi that road to venue is under construction so escorting him to Kampala,” J Mayanja-Nkangi tweeted.
An attempt by Mbabazi to meet his supporters at Kazimingi grounds was foiled as police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd that had gathered to hear him speak.
Police also cordoned off Travel hotel where Mbabazi was expected to conduct his consultative meeting.
Police later instructed Mbabazi convoy to drive to Kampala.
