Jorge Miguel Da Costa Duarte the new Vipers head coach officially started duties at the club on Wednesday ahead of CAF champions league game against South Africa’s platinum stars.

The 37 year old Portuguese born tactician took his charges through his first training session after a two hour meeting with the technical team in which he emphasized team work.

He acknowledged the challenges ahead of an ambitious club like Vipers though accepted he relishes such opportunities thus the task at hand will only help him perform.

Furthermore, he admitted to have been overwhelmed by Vipers’ infrastructure and the young talented players at his disposal which he said can only be utilized with a well laid down technical system.

In his interaction with the players, he called upon them to exercise total discipline, maximum respect to each other, maintaining a football lifestyle as well as living their dreams while they still have the chance.

Da Costa agreed having little time to assess players’ abilities  before the club’s next game but was quick  to urge them make a perfect first impression as he also gets to know more about each individual personality.

His first training session therefore zeroed so much on possession and converting goal scoring opportunities.

Jorge Miguel Da Costa Duarte becomes Vipers second foreign coach after Nigerian Ambrose Chukuma who coached the Venoms between 2012 and 2013.
