Kadaga’s Chopper Plans Under Attack by Anti-Corruption Agencies
Anti-Corruption agencies have condemned the alleged plans by government to procure a chopper for the speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga.
This came on the heels of reports that government has budgeted to procure a brand new chopper to facilitate speaker’s in-land movements.
According to Cissy Kagaba the Executive Director Anti- Corruption Coalition Uganda, procuring a chopper for a speaker is not Uganda’s priority given its current state of economy.
“Uganda is currently in economic turbulence and buying a chopper for the speaker wouldn’t be something the country should focus on soon.” Kagaba said.
However the parliament‘s Director of Communications and Public Affairs Chris Obore earlier dismissed the allegations saying it is not even reflected in the 2017-2018 budget as alleged.
Kadaga is yet to comment about the allegations.
