Winnie Kiiza, the leader of opposition in parliament also Kasese woman MP, said it’s their obligation as Kasese MPs to have their cultural leader released from prison because he holds a lot of responsibilities in the Kingdom.
Kiiza says that the lawyers will also seek justice for the king’s subjects who were arrested in the wake of Kasese fighting.
The leader of opposition also scoffed at charges slapped on the king and asked the government to always respect the law by informing the public about the whereabouts of all people arrested.
Wesley Mumbere was arrested over the weekend from his palace following heavy gunfire between the royal guards and security that left many people dead.
After the arrest, the King was taken to Jinja Chief Magistrate’s court on Tuesday, charged with murder and remanded to prison till 13th December.
