Lango FUFA Delegate Passes On

Death has robbed Lango Sub-region and Uganda Football governing body, Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) of Okello Hannington.
Okello, 58, was one of the delegates from northern region representing Lango Sub-region to the Country’s Football governing body.
He passed on Thursday from Lira regional referral hospital where he was admitted, a statement from Moi Daniel, FUFA’s spokesperson in-charge Lango Sub-region said.
“Hannington had a motorbike accident last year and broke his leg; was rushed to Kumi hospital for surgery that healed well. However, the virus had entered his internal body and affected his brain,” Moi said.
He added that the deceased got paralyzed and was weak following the infection that was never detected from onset.
“Lango will greatly miss him; he was developing local sports talent among youth. Go in peace Hannington,” Moi added.
This website has learnt that his body shall be laid to rest on Monday (today) at Okwalongwen parish, Baata Sub-county in Dokolo district.
Besides representing the sub-region to FUFA, he formerly worked as an accountant in Apac district local government’s engineering section. He was as well a retired referee.
