M7 Is Now Very Weak, Change Is Coming— Besigye

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer has bragged that Museveni hand shake at Namugongo during the mass led by Pope Francis on Saturday signified that the incumbent is trying to make peace with the next president of Uganda.

Addressing a rally in Lagile- Awale Sub County in Pader district, northern Uganda yesterday, Besigye said the hand shake did not come from nowhere.

“The struggle we started some time back is coming to an end. Mr. Museveni is now very weak. He is aware change is coming. Yesterday in Namugongo, he shook my hand for the first time in the last 15 years,” he said, adding; “The hand shake did not come from nowhere, he (Museveni) has realized it’s time to make peace with the person who is going to take over.”

He argued that for the first time, Uganda is going to remove a president without using gun.

The unanticipated hand shake went viral on social media with Besigye radicals opining that it was the first phase of peaceful handover of power while Museveni supporters arguing that it meant that Besigye is willing to return to ruling party and work with president Museveni in the near future.
