Miya, Yasser & Keziron To Compete For 2015 FUFA Best Player Award

Vipers SC duo of Farouk Miya and Keziron Kizito together with former URA FC midfielder, Yassar Mugerwa have been short listed to vie for the inaugural FUFA best player award slated to for November 26, 2015.

Speaking at the Press conference held at Achwa hall, Kampala Serena Hotel on Tuesday, FUFA boss, Moses Magogo hinted that the awards target to recognize excelling Ugandan footballers.

“FUFA is recognizing talent and the efforts of the players, referees and coaches, who are key elements of the game, the FUFA awards will again be instrumental at creating competitiveness with in our players,” Eng. Magogo noted.

The awards will see off the winners take home a car and a land title for each of the best male and female players of the year, Land titles for various winners.

Uganda Kobs skipper, also a regular with the senior team Farouk Miya will face a stiff challenge from former URA FC and now an Orland Pirates striker, Yasser Mugerwa together with another Vipers SC midfield maestro Kezironi Kizito.


Male player of the year 2014/15: Kezironi Kizito (Vipers and Uganda Kobs), Farouk Miya (Vipers, Uganda Kobs and Uganda Cranes), Yasser Mugerwa (Orlando Pirates and Uganda Cranes)

Female player of the year 2014/15: Winnie Babirye (Buikwe She Red Stars), Sandra Nabweteeme (Kawempe Muslim) and Hasfa Nassuna (Kawempe Muslim).

Aside the best male and female player of the year, there are 9 other categories that is coaching, refereeing, fair play, up-coming talent which will also be rewarded.
