The President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni says that mayors who associate themselves with walk to work or other chaotic activities are simply useless.
Museveni said this while at a meeting organized by Urban Authorities Association of Uganda at Ntare School in Mbarara yesterday.
According to the President, urban areas need peace to develop instead of organizing walk to work and other chaotic campaigns.
“Urban areas need peace to develop, if you see a mayor associating himself with walk to work or other chaotic activities, know he’s useless,” President Museveni.
The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is known as the one who is always at the fore front chaotic moves in Kampala and other towns together with his chief mentor Dr. Kizza Besigye.
The Museveni-Lukwago rift has existed for years and it was exposed when Lukwago was forcefully pushed out of Kampala three years back.
Amid attacks from his bosses, Lukwago insists that no one is his boss except to people of Kampala who voted him overwhelmingly.
