While speaking to Journalists, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that; “We have two persons that have been arrested so far and they are detained at Media section, CID headquarters over generating this propaganda. We shall share more details and they have already recovered two laptops from them.”

The police also warned the public over misuse of social media, saying they face prosecution if found guilty of spreading false news of inciting violence.

“They were actually two particular groups and individuals who were going around telling members of public against coming to work and going about their activities. Much as there is freedom of speech, as a human right, it doesn’t protect illegal speech that incites violence and hatred,” said Enanga.
