Robert Shaka accused of disguising as “Tom Voltaire Okwalinga, between 2011 and 2015, in Kampala, of willfully and repeatedly using a computer with no purpose of legitimate communication, disturbed the right to privacy of President Museveni by posting statements regarding his health condition on social media”

Shaka’s release comes after a protracted battle by his lawyer Nicholas Opiyo and friends to have him granted bail.

On Thursday last week, Nakawa Magistrate ordered Police to unconditionally release which was rejected. He was later arraigned before Buganda Road Court charged and sent to Luzira.

“Shaka released on a court bail. Thanks for all your support,” Opiyo said after securing his bail.

He was given a 2million cash bail. Shaka also had to leave his passport at court as of his bail terms.

He was arrested on Monday last week hours after NTV aired an interview in which Shaka revealed how government was trailing and suspecting him to be the anonymous person running Voltaire Okwalinga (TVO) social media account.
