Ruparelia Group Rewards Winning National Golf Team with Shs.10m

Ruparelia Foundation under the chairmanship of Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has rewarded the Uganda National Golf team with ten million Uganda Shillings for being the first ever winners of the Africa Zone VI Golf championship, other than South Africa or Kenya, Red pepper can exclusively report.

According to Africa Zone VI Golf final results, the Uganda National Golf team scored 18.5, South Africa- 17.5, Zimbabwe-16.5, Kenya-15.5, Swaziland-9.5, Zambia-9.5, Botswana-8.5, Malawi-7.5, and Namibia-5, respectively.

Statistics show that South Africa has won nineteen times and Kenya, once, out of the 21 times, the tournament has been held.

“We have decided to recognize the victory of our Golf team because they have uplifted the image of our country and this money intends to motivate them so as to engage in more professional tournaments in the future,” Rajiv Ruparelia, of the Ruparelia Foundation said.

Meanwhile, the team captain Adolf Muhumuza, hailed Ruparelia Group for its kind heart and recognizing their input in sports. The winning couch Amos Kamya also turned up as his team received the Shs.10m reward yesterday at Crane Chamber headquarters.
