Sam Mwandha is tipped to be named the next Uganda Wildlife Authority Executive Director after excelling during the interview process, source have told Red Pepper.

Mwandha came top in the final interview, followed by Achilles Byaruhanga, a birding enthusiast and the incumbent Andrew Seguya came third. All names have been submitted to the minister Ephraim Kamuntu to appoint the next UWA boss.

INCUMBENT: Sseguya is facing competition for his job

Kamuntu will now consult widely before making an announcement. Sources say he will consult widely at all levels of government before making his decision.

BIRDING LOVER: Achilles Byaruhanga

Sam Mwandha is the chief party at Africa Wildlife Foundation. He served as a warder 10 years ago and an UWA Community conservation warden.

Achilles Byaruhanga is currently  the executive director of Nature Uganda who are a partner of BirdLife International.
