Thank you uganda!!! Thank you for loving Atuhirwe Carol. Today, the ‪#‎SaveCarol‬ Carwash realised Shs53,790,000. 420 cars washed, several t-shirts, armbands, pens and millions in physical cash donations. We are inching closer to our Shs270,000,000 goal,” Muhereza Kyamutetera, one of the organisers said.‬

The event was graced by former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) strongman Kizza Besigye who arrived at midday, singer Bobi Wine who was the chief washer at the event among other prominent socialites.

Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) joined with event with its fleet of cars. It paid Shs100,000 for the Caterpillar and Shs1,750,000 for 35 other cars.

However the event evoked wrath from minister for Kampala and presidency Frank Tumwebaze who said it was politicised.

“Such deserving charity causes get spoilt when turned into publicity seeking shows for politicians,” Tumwebaze tweeted.
