UCE Results to be Released Today
By Rebeccah Wasen
The Uganda National Examinations Board is today expected to release last year’s examinations results of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
The function is to take place at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala at 11am.
These results were scheduled to be released two weeks ago but a shortage of UNEB computers, internal bickering and financial constraints could not able the process.
Marking of the exams started on December 6, 2016 and about 323,233 students sat for the exam at 3,454 centres.
The number of candidates also shot up by 8,500 students from 314,286 who sat the previous year.
Dan Odongo, the UNEB executive secretary general said the UNED security committee had already scrutinized the results and the board briefed the Education and Sports minister Janet Museveni, on performance.
They come just a day after most schools in the country reopened for the first term.
The Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education results are set to be released early February thus completing the exam release circle.
