Kampala Set for 54-Story “Diamond Tower”, Uganda’s Tallest

Kampala is gearing up for a jaw-dropping skyline shake-up as developers unveil plans for a mega 220-metre skyscraper—poised to become Uganda’s tallest building—in the leafy suburbs of Kololo.

Diamond Tower Kampala

Dubbed the Diamond Tower Kampala, the glittering giant is set to rise at the junction of Lugogo Bypass and Nviri Lane, planting luxury and high-tech living right in the heart of the city’s most affluent neighbourhood.

Designed by the elite team at Angiletti Design Studio, the project kicked off its concept phase in mid-2024 and has already been submitted to authorities including the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for approval. If all goes to plan, construction will roar to life in 2026.

And this is no ordinary building.

The tower will shoot up 54 floors above ground with two basement levels, packing in 300 serviced apartments, over 200 hotel rooms, and eight ultra-luxury penthouses. Inside, it’s all about high life—think a full health club floor with a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam rooms, plus restaurants, conference halls and massive parking space.

But the real twist? The entire structure is shaped like a diamond—literally—drawing its name and design from the unique layout of its land.

Developers say the project is more than just luxury—it’s a response to Kampala’s exploding population. With the city already bursting at over 4.5 million people and density expected to skyrocket in the coming decades, experts warn that going vertical is no longer optional—it’s survival.

“The future of Kampala is high-rise living,” project manager Adam Jumba revealed, noting that low-rise housing may soon be outdated as pressure on land intensifies.

With cutting-edge glass technology blocking 99% of UV rays and offering 360-degree panoramic views, the Diamond Tower promises not just height—but class, comfort, and global standards.

Once complete, this towering beast is expected to redefine Kampala’s skyline and drag the city into the league of world-class urban giants.

Kampala, brace yourself—the sky is no longer the limit!
