Brigadier Clovis Kalyebara, Uganda’s Military Attaché to Kenya, has died.
Kalyebara, aged 57, died on Tuesday night at Nairobi Hospital. His close friend, Lt. Col. Steven Basaliza, told Uganda Radio Network that Kalyebala has been bedridden at Nairobi Hospital. Before his appointment by President Yoweri Museveni as military attaché three months ago, Kalyebara was the Commandant of the Military Academy, Kabamba.
Prior to the Nairobi assignment, Kalyebala once served as military attaché to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and deputy Commandant of Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka.
Kalyebala joined the army in 1979. He hails from Harugongo, Kichwamba Sub County in Kabarole district.
The UPDF and defence spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Paddy Ankunda confirmed the death of the Brigadier, adding that details will be communicated later. The death comes just over a month after that of Brigadier Patrick Kankiriho, the Second Division Commander, who died on April 7th after a short illness.
