Al-Hilal Stands in URA’s way

Guest side URA FC will face a tough test against home side Al-Hilal Kadugli in the opening match of the 2013 Cecafa Kagame Club Championship in South Kordofan, Sudan this evening. Paul Nkata, the head Coach who is yet to link up with the team says winning the opening match will be very important for them. URA, who finished second in the FUFA Super League were invited as guests after Tusker FC from Kenya pulled out citing security concerns in Darfur and South Kordofan.

Augustine Nsumba, a player on the URA team is confident they are going to win the game.  He explained that they received a wonderful reception in Kadugli city adding that before they left Kampala; they were cautioned that they were going to a war torn place. He however says that when they arrived in Kordofan, they found it is very safe and the organization is good. URA’s assistant Coach Ibrahim Kirya says they will put up a good performance till the final game.

Hamza Othman, captain of El Hilal Kadugli says they will be all out to prove a point to their fans in Kadugli. He says holding the tournament in the southern state of South Kordofan in Sudan has a significant meaning to the team, which means they must play well. After the first game, URA will be back in action on Thursday against another Sudan side Al Ahly Shandy. Ugandan midfielder Joseph Kabagambe could feature for the Sudan side if his transfer is complete.
