Express FC stand-in coach Wasswa Bbosa has said his youthful team will put up a better show against Rwanda’s Rayon Sport at the on-going Cecafa Kagame Club Championships in Sudan on Saturday.
The Red Eagles hope to do better when they play their second game of the tournament, after settling for a goalless draw against Djibouti’s Ports FC on Thursday at the Naga Stadium in El Fasher, Darfur.
Bbosa, a former Cranes midfielder, says his team is now used to the tournament and the environment in Darfur. He said that although they should have won the game against Ports, his youthful team has no experience at the International stage.
The draw keeps Express and Ports FC behind Electric Sport of Chad and Rwanda champions Rayon Sport who also settled for a 3-all draw on Thursday.
Another Uganda side at the tournament, URA FC, also found the going tough yesterday when they lost 1-0 to Sudan’s Al Ahly Shandy in a match played in South Kordofan state.
Although the revenue side won their opening game by the same score on Tuesday, they will wait for the last group C game in to decide if they make it to the quarter finals. Assistant Coach Ibrahim Kirya said his side was wasteful in front of goal and also conceded after some defensive lapses.
The tournament taking place in South Kortdofan and Darfur enters day four today with Burundi’s Vital’O facing Elman of Somalia, while home side El Merreikh El Fasher battle Rwanda’s APR.
