Former Uganda Cranes inspiration defender and captain marvel Ibrahim Ssekagya made a motivational appearance in the team camp on Thursday that left players in high spirits of winning tomorrow’s World Cup qualifiers against Angola.

The Red Bull Salzburg captain trained with the team and showed he still has the touch, game reading and composer that made him a Cranes’ darling during his heydays. The players flirted with him as he gave the courageous advice needed at such a stage.

“I am not cancelling my retirement, am here to motivate the boys and I can tell you they are talented and ready. It’s now down to the coach (Milutin ‘Micho’ sredojevic) to choose the best squad,” remarked sekagya after last evening’s intensive training.

The 32 year old  who joined comrades David Obua and Nestroy Kizito when they retired from national duty over 2 years ago, warmed the spirits of Cranes fans as he jumped out of the Cranes fans fro training.

Cranes young players Josrph Mpande, said Kyeyune,Nicholas Wadada,Denis Guma and Robert Odongkara having been missing such influence especially after the axing of physiologist Leo Adraa, will find solace in Seekagya’s domineering presence.

“I played against Angola and we won. I have confidence that these boys can also do it this time, “said Ssekagya, who spent close 16 years with the national side. According to seasoned pundits, Ssekagya’s presence in the camp will serve the same purpose George Weah imposed on the Liberian team that almost made them invincible.

Meanwhile Education and sports Minister Jessica Alupo delivered Shs24m as government contribution to the team camp at Naalya yesterday.
