Four countries including China have confirmed participation in the 3rd edition of the Uganda International Woodball Open Championships due October this year at the Kisubi Beach, Entebbe.
Namayo Mawerere, the communications officer of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWF), told redpepper today morning that the four foreign teams that have confirmed participation include; Kenya, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and China.
UWF invited 34 countries- 20 from Asia, seven from Europe 7, one from America and six from Africa for the two-day prized Championships.
Four clubs from Uganda namely Ndejje University, Botladz, Stroke and Ndejje Club have also confirmed their entries.
Mawerere says although only four have confirmed, they still expect more countries to enter the event before the end of this month.
The Uganda Open is an International Woodball Federation (IWbF) recognized annual ranking World Tour event on the international calendar. Uganda’s pair of Sophia Namuddu and Lillian Zawedde won the only gold medals in the ladies doubles at the 1st Uganda International Open Woodball Championships in 2010 at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel.
