As at half time the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) 2014 South Africa 2rd leg Qualifier clash between the Uganda Cranes and Tanzania’s Taifa Stars is a 1-1 stalemate at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The first half was shaded by the Tanzanians, who had the lions share of goal-bound opportunities, pressing the Ugandans deeper and deeper into their area especially after the quarter hour-mark.
The best chances for the Cranes went to Frank Kalandawho shot wide on three different occasions when well placed though managing to net the first goal in the 7th minute, while the Tanzanians had two clear opportunities on goal, with a Amir Kiemba scoring from a Mrisho Ngassa assist before Ngassa hit the wood bar minutes later
Uganda improved towards the end of the half but again they could not convert, especially when Frank Kalanda went through on goal.
It promises to be a good second half… Bring it on.
