The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has appointed officials from Madagascar to take charge during the return leg match of the CHAN qualifiers between Taifa Stars and Uganda Cranes to be played in Kampala on Saturday.

Kanoso Abdoul Ohabee will be the central referee as Andirvoavonjy Pierre Jean Eric will be first choice assistant while Jinoro Velomanana Ferdinand is the second choice referee.

The match’s fourth official is Andriamiharisoa Hubert Marie Bruno as Ethiopian Ismail Kamal has been appointed by CAF as a match commissioner for the match is expected to kick off at 16:00 East African time.

Uganda is on the brink of qualifying for a second consecutive CHAN final tournament after posting an impressive 1-0 first leg victory over host Tanzania in Dar es Salam a week back. The tournament will be in South Africa early next year.

Qualification for the event will further boost a nation that was last month thrilled by World Cup qualification wins over Liberia and Angola. The Cranes will, after this weekend’s fixture, shift their focus to the World Cup game away against Senegal in Morocco.

The team under Serbian tactician Mulitin Sredojevic regroups today for residential training at SKY Hotel in Naalya a Kampala suburb.

Assistant captain Denis Iguma, who scored the lone goal in Dar es Salaam, said they will have to work hard as a team and not underrate the Tanzanians.

“They are not a bad team and we need to face them with a lot of caution,” said the SC Victoria University defender.
