Two Proline FC players Patrick Edema and Razak Apollo were by the time of filing this story expected to have left for trials with a day for a fourth tier side Esparanca De Lagos FC.
Edema who was part of the Uganda Cranes team that beat Tanzania 1-0 in the 2014 CHAN qualifier first leg tie last Saturday was meant to connect to Nairobi on Sunday, but missed his flight.
Edema who played for six months at Ethiopia’s St George in 2011 and Razak Apollo are expected to have trials for two weeks.
Mujib Kasule, one of the Directors of Proline FC told local media that the two players will leave tonight through Nairobi. Kasule explained that Edema’s loan spell at SC Victoria has ended and he is now a Proline FC player. Edema played for St. Mary’s Kitende SS in several Coca Cola Schools championships before joining the Proline Academy in 2006.
Kasule said they will always try to take as many players as possible to the paid ranks which will eventually help the club and country in return. Kasule said this is the same things Asec Mimosa did some years ago and it has paid off because many of their players have joined teams in Europe.
The other Ugandan players featuring for teams in Portugal in the second Tier include Kizito Luwagga and Alex Kakuba.
