Uganda Cranes Fly Over Kilimanjaro In Chan Qualifier

Uganda Cranes Coach Micho Sredejovic has lived up to his promise to defeat Tanzania’s Taifa stars in the qualifiers of the 3rd Edition of the Orange CHAN beating the latter by a goal to nil in a game played Saturday afternoon.

Dennis Iguma scored Uganda Cranes only goal against Tanzania in the qualifier in a game played at the at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es salam Tanzania.

Iguma’s goal found the back of the net in the 48th minute after the first half had ended in a stalemate. It is new Coach Milutin Sredejovic’s third win in a row.

The win also gives the Uganda Cranes an advantage going into the return leg that will be played at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole on the 27th of this month. The aggregate winner over the two legs will qualify to the CHAN main championships next year in South Africa.

The CHAN tournament is held every two years, alternating with the Africa Cup of Nations. The qualifying phase has taken place every even year and the final every odd year. However, it has swapped years with Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament which will be held next year in South Africa  features players who are active in the national championships and qualify to play in the ongoing season.

  1. Cranes, we are happy for you. Keep training. Be disciplined, take care of your health. Minister Alupo, facilitate our players. They are the only face replasenting Uganda. Build each of the players a decent house, provide medical for their families. Enable them to become professionals. Ugandan, despite the corruption, generously contribute to their training. For God and My Country.
