Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club will face Tanzania’s giant side Simba SC in a pre-season build-up match on July 20 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Edgar Watson, the FA Chief Executive Officer, confirmed that they have fully blessed the team to travel to Dar es Salaam after a letter seeking their acknowledgement for the tour was received.
Head coach Paul Nkata said the game against a big side like Simba SC will help them prepare well for the forth coming 2013/2014 season. “We need such big games to help us prepare our team better and also get our new players to get exposed,” added Nkata.
Management of the URA FC team said the invitation from Tanzania was sent immediately after the 2013 Cecafa Kagame Club Championships held in the Sudan state of Darfur and South Kordofan.
URA fell out at the quarter final stage to Rwandan side Rayon Sport 3-2.
The team will however miss the services of their players Frank Kalanda, Davis Kasirye, Saidi Kyeyune, Owen Kasule, Martin Poloto and skipper Augustine Nsumba who are with the national team preparing for a 2014 CHAN qualifier second leg against Tanzania.
