One of the Africa’s most travelled and Nigeria’s best comedian, Bright Okpoch alias Basket Mouth is set to thrill and crack the ribs of comedy lovers in Kampala on a show dubbed Africa Laughs come Friday August 9 at Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala.
The Nigerian comedian, who stepped on the Ugandan soil for the first time at Entebbe International Airport aboard RwandAir at 18:45 hours GMT, was welcomed by the Africa Laughs host comedian Patrick Salvador Indrig and Alex Muhangi of the Krackers comedy group.
Basket Mouth was in company of fellow comedians; Karl Joshua from Zimbabwe, Eric Omondi from Kenya and other two comedians from Nigeria.
The Africa Laughs show will be the first of its kind in Uganda and it will also feature local comedians like Alex Muhangi the funniest Mukiga, Ssegujja Robert alias Mendo Museveni, Patrick Salvador Indrig and Anne Kansiime.
“This is my first time in Uganda, Ugandans should expect fresh jokes and should be ready to enjoy the show because i am going to ‘kill’ them,” said Basket Mouth in a press conference today at Imperial Royale hotel in Kampala.
He further praised the Ugandan comedy industry for nurturing and producing talented comedians.
“I was surprised and humbled when i first saw Salvador perform in South Africa, i could not believe that he was from Uganda,” appreciated Basket Mouth.
