Eastern vs Buganda
Experienced coach Edward Goloola is a happy man after guiding Buganda to yet another final of the 2013 FUFA-MTN inter region competition on-going in Hoima against defending champions Eastern.
Buganda humbled West Nile 2-1 in the first semi final played this afternoon at the Boma ground.
“I am glad that my players listened to instructions. We have to plan better in the final on Saturday,” said a happy Goloola after the game.
Goloola also guided premier league side Bunnamwaya FC (now Vipers FC) to league victory in 2010. He is currently the assistant coach of Vipers FC working under Ambrose Duru Chukuma from Nigeria.
It is the second time Buganda is reaching the final after winning the inaugural trophy in 2009 when they beat Kampala 2-1.
Faizal Kavuma and Samuel Mwanje scored for Buganda, while skipper Savior Anzuuku pulled one back for West Nile in a game watched by a fair crowd.
West Nile’s coach Peter Sorper said they were unfortunate to concede two quick goals. “We settled later in the second half and should have equalized and perhaps won the game,” added the coach.
In the second semi final defending champions Eastern were also 2-1 winners over surprise package Northern.
The final is on Saturday at Booma grounds with the play-off proceeding it while next year’s competition to take in Soroti district.
