KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi yesterday August 7, announced that the Kampala City Festival scheduled for October 6, has won a celebrity endorsement of Ugandan singer Bobi Wine, known by some as “The Ghetto President”.

The Kampala City Festival 2013 theme this year is ‘Our City. Our Celebration’ and will be a platform to celebrate the many things that set Kampala apart from other cities and one of them is the great entertainment it offers.

“We are pleased to be associated with one of Uganda’s biggest music icons and the Kampala City Festival will certainly benefit from his endorsement regionally”, said Jennifer Musisi during the unveiling.

Bobi Wine will bring his expertise in the entertainment industry to help in the production and shooting of the Festival’s official jingle and television commercial that shall be showcasing what the city has to offer.

Bobi Wine will also be performing at the main Festival Concert on October 13 alongside other local musicians and he shall also be part of the Festival procession with his entire band members.

Speaking during the announcement, Bobi Wine said that he is excited to work with KCCA in this year’s City Festival and promises the fans a great experience and celebration of this great City.

“I believe music is instrumental in bringing societies together and Kampala dwellers should come out in their numbers to celebrate not only music, but all the other achievements as a City’, said Bobi Wine.

“Bobi Wine’s strong, chivalrous character and his free spirit exemplify what the Kampala Capital City Authority stands for, streamlining the city’s services for all Kampala dwellers to live free and success in life,” added Musisi.

The Festival will consist of a programme of over 200 events and activities that cross the worlds of business, fashion, art and culture, entertainment, technology and industry to engage the whole family and general public.
