Coach Sammy Samanya whose side trailed all-game missed the services of the 2009 league MVP and Ivan Enabu due to injury registering the Airtel National Basketball League defending champions’ third loss of season so far.

Ndejje power forward Geoffrey Soro impressed with a game high 34 points denting Warriors’ chances of closing the gap on the co-leaders Dmark Power and UCU Canoons who share an identical 12-2 record.

Ndejje coached by gaudy Obedi Walker started strongly and closed out the first quarter leading 24-15 led by Brian Ouma who scored 11 of his 15 points in the opening ten minutes.

“We have been coming close but losing by a few points at the end and all we needed was a little composure and we are there” Angels’ coach, Walker Obedi said after the game.

Then came the stirring comeback from the Warriors piloted by Henry Malinga to bring the game with in their reach immediately after halftime but his team-high 15 points could not save the day for the club that finished fourth at the 2013 Fiba Africa Zone V Club Championships in Burundi.

Meanwhile, women defending champions KCCA Leopards recovered from Sunday’s ghastly loss to KIU by beating Magic Stormers 64-42 in a match they showed some improvements.
