The 2013 Uganda Super Cup will match Kampala City Capital Authority and SC Victoria University in the annual contest which is taking place at the Nakivubo Stadium in downtown Kampala on July 16.

Coincidentally the traditional season opening showpiece sees Uganda Cup Winners SCVU just a year old in the  top tier take on the 2012/13 League Champions KCCA FC for the chance to claim the first piece of silverware of the new season.

KCCA by contrast won their sixth league title last season under George ‘Best’ Nsimbe who had lead the Lugogo based outfit to their last triumph in 2007.

For SCVU, the game comes just in time after a run of friendly games in which Alex Isabirye’s side is unbeaten.

SCVU will continue to be without the services of Club Captain Nestroy Kizito. However, vice captain Denis Iguma will be called to action 48 hours after his Wednesday’s friendly against Egypt. Savio Kabugo too is expected to be in the line-up.

The match though will provide the opportunity for over ten players to make their first competitive debuts.

SCVU’s Okwi Simon, Ceasar Sapeo and Benjamin Ochan are also expected to face their former side.

SCVU has never lost to KCCA as both sides have played to draws in their previous two meetings.

For Nsimbe’s side, Cranes stars Brain Majwega and Hassan Wasswa are unlikely to take part after returning from Egypt on Thursday while new recruits Ayub Kiiza and Stephen Bengo will also lineup against the University side.
