Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has congratulated the people of Zimbabwe for voting resoundingly for the MDC on 31 July.

The MDC further thanked their supporters for the level of determination they showed during election time

“We salute you for demonstrating unparalleled determination by coming out in your numbers to exercise your democratic right and voting for change and real transformation,” said the MDC publicist in a statement released on the MDC official website.

The statement further read that the peoples victory has once again been stolen; “However, once more your victory has been flagrantly and brutally thwarted. Your anger, bitterness and pain are palpable, but your resolve for a better Zimbabwe remain unbridled. For the last 13 years you have resisted this dictatorship and your resistance has often been met with brutal resistance from the State security.”

MDC calims that even before the votes were cast the outcome was already known since voters were given money, use of unauthentic ballot papers,

As a party, the MDC knows that even before a vote was cast, the outcome was inevitable because of a corrupt voters’ roll, unauthentic ballot papers, and a highly partisan electoral commission.

Raising the above concerns, MDC rejected the outcome of the results and that the arm of the law must take its course.

“We know that the brutal Zanu PF regime has once more unashamedly and mercilessly subverted the will of the people. Therefore, the MDC totally rejects the outcome of this election as nothing but a huge farce. It is indeed a big lie, which even the brutal regime will not live with,” a press statement further read.

MDC further urged the people to remain steadfast and resilient in their fight for justice and a better life for all.
