A Maxime Van Pee inspired Team Uganda leaped to victory over bitter rivals Kenya in the second leg of the FIM Mountain Dew Central Motocross showpiece that took centre stage at the Uganda Sports Arena in Busiika on Sunday.

Uganda collected a total of 1175 points to win the tightly contested second round but is now 445 points behind Kenya who still lead with a total of 2356 points while Uganda has 1911 points in the two rounds ahead of the third and final round is set for December this year in Nairobi Kenya.

Maxime Van Pee was all-high as he defeated regional champion Shivam Vinayak of Kenya in the MX1 category with Alistair Blick winning gold in the MX 85cc category with 55points while Kenya’s Ngugi Waweru and Uganda’s Ali Omar finishing second and third respectively.

Ben Nsumba won the 50cc with Wazir Omar also walking away with the 65cc bragging rights in a day that saw South African Freestyler Nick de Wit, treated the crowd to a cocktail of acrobatic stunts including the famous ‘Backflip’.
