Handled by ex-Cranes star Livingstone Mbabazi, the Kawempe based team will look to the experience of Abubakar Tabula and Jamil Kyambadde

Mbabazi a former SC Villa, KCCA FC and St. Patrick (Ireland) player takes over from John Kayanja, who had a successful stint with the club for four years.

“We are senior players and will play our hearts out to guide the young players so that this team can achieve,” said Kyambadde.

Tabula, who also played professional football for GIF Sundsvall in Sweden (2007), switched from Proline FC to Bright Stars FC.

“Playing alongside Kyambadde, whom I played with in the national team, will be good and we hope to lead this team to achieve good results,” said Tabula.

And club’s CEO Ahmed Hussein told this paper that although they are a new team in top flight football, they will be a hard nut to crack.

“We shall not be an easy team to beat and the presence of former Cranes players will help us a lot with the experience,” added Hussein.

But SC Victoria 4-3 reverse in penalty shoot outs to league champions KCCA FC in the FUFA Super Cup last weekend will also approach the game with high aspirations.

“We have prepared well and we are going all out to win our opening match,” Coach Alex Isabirye vowed.

The Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club which has been more active in the pre-season than any other team will be up against Bidco FC. It will be a battle of national team assistant coach Kefa Kisala (Bidco) and U-20 coach Paul Nkata (URA) trying to prove a point of who gets his tactics right.

The fourth game on card will see Coach George Ssemogerere’s Kiira Young take on Police FC at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. SC Vipers who won their opening match 2-0 against Masaka LC FC on August 20th lead the log.
