The hospital that has been supplying blood units to other health centres in the districts of Amuria, Soroti, Katakwi, Kaberamaido and Serere is now in need of blood.

According to a reliable source at the hospital who preferred anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter reveled to us that the hospital ran out of blood on Thursday September 12 and from then, all patients who were in need of blood were being referred to other hospitals.

According to the medical forms of four children seen by Redpepper online team, blood Groups O and A are out of stock.

12 children who are admitted at the paediatric unit are still stranded because there are no blood units.

Charles Obonyo, the in-charge of the blood unit at the Hospital declined to comment saying he is not allowed to speak to the media.
