The Vice President of the Uganda FA in charge of the League has warned Kiira Young FC that they will not be allowed to play a FUFA Super League match without a qualified coach.
“We have standards and rules that govern this league and all team officials are aware of them. We shall not allow Kiira Young to play any other league game unless they get a coach who is qualified, with the lowest being a CAF license C,” a tough-speaking Kasule said on Thursday morning.
Kiira Young have played two matches against Bright Stars and Masaka LC FC without a qualified coach as per the FA standards.
Their qualified coaches George Ssemogerere and assistant James Magala quit the club two weeks ago after the club management asked them to sign an agreement that they would face the sack if they failed to win three straight games.
Kasule explained that it was not right for Kiira Young to have unqualified club officials coaching the team during the league games.
“We shall not fine them now, but it’s a warning to all other clubs because we have provided coaching courses and there is no way a league club should have no qualified coach,” he added.
The FA Vice President said Kiira Young can go ahead and get a caretaker coach who is qualified as they work around to get a permanent coach. Club Chairman Jimmy Lukwago has been in negotiation with several candidates and should have a coach by their next game on October 4th against Vipers FC.
