Geoffrey Kusuro leads a strong team of four runners as Uganda takes part in the Mountain Running World Championships in Poland. There are 365 runners from 40 countries and 5 continents on the start list for Sunday’s race.
Kusuro faces a strong field of seniors: Valentina Belotti and Elisa Desco from Italy, Marie-Laure Dumergues from France, Bernard and Martin Dematteis, Alex Baldaccini and Xavier Chevrier from Italy and Max King from the USA.
Other players on the team that were flagged off yesterday by UAF president Dominic Etuchet were- Phillip Kiplimo, Peter Kibet and Nathan Nyeko.
The four athletes who have been training in Kapchorwa under the guidance of Flavio Pasqualato will run in what is dubbed as the toughest 13.56km race.
