Ochan KCCA Loan Matures
Struggling League champions KCCA FC are in advanced stages of signing TP Mazembe reject Patrick Ochan before the end of this week.
The Cranes midfielder, who was released by the Democratic Republic of Congo giant side TP Mazembe last month, together with Mike Mutyaba, for non-performance, has already completed talks with the Lugogo-based club.
“We have been in talks with TP Mazembe and they have allowed the player to join us on loan and we should sign him before the end of the week,” Club Secretary David Tamale told sources.
Tamale revealed that they had also wanted to sign Mutyaba, but management of TP Mazembe insisted that they will not let the former Vipers and El Merreikh (Sudan) player go.
“We want to strengthen our team to defend the league title and also to prepare for the 2014 CAF Champions League,” added Tamale.
Mutyaba only joined TP Mazembe four months ago from El Merreikh, while Ochan joined earlier from Tanzanian giants Simba SC. Another Cranes defender Geoffrey Walusimbi, who was sent off in the Cranes’ 2014 World Cup qualifier against Senegal over a week ago, also abandoned his DR Congo team, Don Bosco FC.
