Stay-home Uganda Cranes and Tunisia’s Etoile due Sahel embattled striker Emmanuel Okwi will be considered for loan offers from European clubs by his Arab bosses if he gets lucky enough.

Okwi’s UK-based agent Ed Stoner told sources in Casablanca, Morocco that he is holding negotiations with the Tunisian club that signed the striker six months ago for the player who trains with local side Uganda Revenue Authority.

The striker said last month that there is no way he could return to Etoile du Sahel because they had failed to fulfil their contractual obligations.

“They need to first pay what belongs to me because they did not complete the sign on fee when I moved from Tanzania’s Simba SC,” said Okwi.

Okwi went on to say that Etoile du Sahel, who are currently busy in the CAF Orange Confederation Cup, also want US$400,000 from any team chasing his signature.

However, Stoner said although Okwi’s issue looks complicated, he hopes a quick solution is found and the player moves to Europe on loan.

“If he moves to Europe and performs well, then he can get a permanent deal,” explained Stoner.

The former SC Villa striker has been one of Uganda’s reliable strikers in the last four years and was a regular top scorer at Tanzanian giants Simba SC before he crossed to the Tunisian side.

Okwi has before intimated that he is hungry for club football now because the only competitive game time he has so far got is with the Cranes.

“I wish I can get a team to be active and keep fit. I don’t mind coming back to play in a team in Uganda because I know I would attract other scouts,” said Okwi.

However, sources in Tunisia say Etoile du Sahel also tried to report Okwi to FIFA to take action against the player for allegedly absconding and failing to fulfil his contractual obligations with the club.
