Soana FC visit KCC on Friday looking to rebound and stay top of the FUFA Super League table.
The rookies must beat Kampala City Council in the two sides Week 3 fixture at Lugogo Stadium in Kampala to ensure they maintain top spot.
The Wakiso based side are so far undefeated in the Super League this season, having won their opener against last season’s runners-up fellow promoted team CRO in Mbale before seeing off Kiira Young at Namboole 0-3 at the end of August.
Those results have left Soana first in the standings, but defending champions KCC meanwhile, are yet to register their first three-pointer this term, with George Nsimbe’s side having begun the campaign with a 1-1 draw against SC Villa three weeks back and lag in eighth place on a single point.
But KCC’s backline should be wary of teenage sensation Francis Olaki (17) who has so far netted thrice for Soana and leads the top-scorers chart. Olaki a young brother to Cranes star Emmanuel Okwi scored 5 times to help Soana win promotion to the top tier last season and will hope to recapitulate his form in the Super league.
“We shall know how to handle that kid (Olaki),” KCC centre-back Fahad Kawooya intimated to our scoop in a phone chat.
“The fact that he is fast and has some former KCC players alongside him will not stop us from beating Soana,” the Uganda Cranes defender added.
But KCC will be spurred by the return of on-fire Uganda winger Brian Majwega and his teammate, defensive midfielder Hassan Wasswa who both took part in the unsuccessful 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup Qualifiiers final tie against Senegal in Morocco last week but t top striker Tony Odur sits out the fixture due to injury.
