Three Perish In Kabale Accident

Three People have been confirmed dead while 8 others are nursing serious injuries sustained in an accident involving a fuso Lorry along the Kabale –Ntungamo Highway, south western Uganda.

The Accident occurred at Kakatunda in Bukinda sub county Kabale district on Monday morning.

One person died on spot while the other two were burnt to death by the  subsquent fire that lasted for over an hour.

Owen Tumuhimbise, a taxi driver who arrived at the scene shortly after  the accident told our reporter that the lorry registration number UAE 909W caught fire after over turning, leaving the survivors seriously burnt.

The bodies and the injured persons were all taken to Kabale regional referral Hospital.

The names of the deceased and the injured  remain unknown as the survivors could not be able to talk and their belongings were destroyed by the fire.

Kabale regional referral Hospital Medical superintendent Dr.Placid Mihayo told our reporter that the injured have suffered extensive burns but says that they are out of Danger.

Mihayo adds that  they  will chose those to be transferred to the national referral Hospital in Mulago after a thorough assesment

Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate says that Police is working closely with the Hospital authorities to get the identities of the Dead and those injured.
