Riham Warriors Basketball Club has certainly given up on winning the Airtel National Basketball League Regular Season but will would definite never let nemesis UCU Canons beat them again when the two face tonight at Lugogo MTN Arena.

UCU Sudi Ulanga (B) tries to challenge Warriors assistant captain Kasewu for the ball in their first round fixture. Sudi topscored with 20 points for UCU.

Coach Nicholas Natuhereza’s side were one of only two teams, the other being City Oilers, to beat Warriors in the first round, the final score ending 63-58 but losses to mediocre sides Nkumba Marines (56-54) and Nkumba Marines (58-56) left Warriors languishing in fourth at 11-5 in the second round.

And UCU have done a good job, winning 15 of their 17 games thus far and can make it 16 victories if they beat champions Riham Warriors tonight but Canons cannot take tonight’s fixture lightly as they have lost to Warriors in three of their four semifinal appearances including last season.

In the women’s division, KIU Rangers will face defending champions KCCA Leopards in their third and final regular season meeting. The teams are square at 1-1 in the regular season series.

And on Wednesday, record champions Falcons were condemned to a stumpy 7th position after falling 82-73 to giant slayers Ndejje Angels which implies a quarterfinal match up with either UCU or Power for Gad Etue’s side.
